The Day after!!

'twas the day after Christmas and all threw the house not a creature was stirring and thank goodness there was no mouse.
The presents have been unwrapped and the food that took days to cook has all been eaten.
The children are happy playing with their new toys.
Mum and dad are wondering why did they get the ones that make so much noise.

I forgot to blog the past week my poor blogging friends:(

Happy 2nd Birthday Cheeky Monkey

Today our grandson Cheeky Monkey turned 2. Here are just a few snaps from the day.
Party boxes Trains for boys and Butterflies for the girls.
Sammy Seal painted the wooden  trains and butterflies (bought at the Kaisercraft outlet here in Geelong) and I then decorated the noodle boxes and the wooden shapes. Roughly working out each noodle box costed around $3.00 including the lollies and toys we put inside them.
Train cake made by Nanny and Mummy.
Base of cake is chocolate cake. The trains are vanilla cake and the mould was found at Big W. It is a sillicone muffin mould.
The Handy Mandy bike is a great hit.

Pop teaching Cheeky Monkey to play golf in the lounge room

Cheeky Monkey and his Mummy (sammy seal) having a major cuddle together.
As you can tell its been a full on day for the little man and enjoyable for all of us.

Till next time take care.

Advent Calendar Completed

Here is my completed Advent Calendar.
My completed project
The before project.
I did have a few issues with the little chipboard drawers and have learnt to cut my patterned paper into strips and then glue or doublesided tape them on. But hey there were no instructions with the kit and I also didn't grab the magazine that kaiser put out in September with the instructions in it.

Here is a fab link to the Kaisercraft Blog that shows you 3 other ways to use this little project.

Now onto project number 2 for Christmas so I will catch you all again soon.

Packed to the Rafters - day 4

There are times when seriously I should NOT have more money in my purse. As I not only went to Kaisercraft but Bunnings and bought some Blackboard paint.
I'm sure you are holding your breathe right now and wondering what it was that I decided to turn into a blackboard....keep me happy just nod your head please. :)

Well here you go the creation in pictures because I could see you were starting to turn a little blue there and I just can't afford to loose any blog followers right now if ever.
This and the bar bench divide our kitchen and dinning room.
We can't take the walls out as A) its an alcove for our fridge.
B) It's more then likely that they are load bearing and hold our ceiling up too.

After a wash with sugar soap

Marking the lines for our chalkboard.?
I used blue painters tape to mark my work area. I just love this tape as it has no bleeding if applied correctly. Can stay there for up to 14 days if it has to how good is that?
The 1st coat of blackboard paint.
Once this is finished I think Cheeky Monkey is going to love it.
I am also hoping that he won't be drawing on any other walls.

Miss A and her parents are going home tomorrow so she wont have the pleasure of test driving this.

29 days till Chistmas 2010

Welcome to FlogYoBlog Friday

Its only 29 days till Christmas....oh boy!!!
What to do?? What to do???
Yesterday afternoon a friend and I ended up at the Kaisercraft outlet store here in Geelong she needed some items for an album she was finishing and I needed some inspiration for some Chirstmas craft projects I wanted to do. I do so dislike going to Kaiser without any money I can tell you so once THE MOTH got paid and passed me some cash I went back there .... well I had found my inspiration after all and you got to strike while the iron is hot don't you?
So here are the projects I am going to start this weekend.
Advent Calendar
I have already started on this one as I inked the inside of the 25 little chipboard draws last night.
Bauble Tag Album

Star Wreath
I also bought some paper pads, embellishments and a little kit for a competition they are holding. Oh I also bought a fort to do up for the Cheeky Monkey just for the fun of it..you understand don't you?

I will update over the weekend with my progress on these projects so stay tuned and enjoy your weekend. I know I will as we have been told its suppose to rain on and off this weekend hence the craft projects.

I'm really excited today!!!

Yep so many good things have happened this week and I'm really excited about them.(inserts happy dance here....)
1st: Last week I decided to join the a great company called The Learning Ladder as an advisor.
and my kit arrived.
My kit arrived in 4 boxes.
It was almost like Christmas for me opening these 4 boxes.
Picture 1 of my kit
Just a few items in their great range.
Picture 2 of my kit
And the rest of the items that wouldn't fit in the 1st picture.
My reasons for joining a varied as our children are all grown up and having children of their own. But here goes...I joined as I love meeting new people and this is a great way for me to meet them. We have 1 soon to be 2 year old grandchild with another due next April and I wanted them to have a great start in life by playing and learning at the same time. Last but by no means least the range of products are wonderful and I know I can honestly tell a parent, grandparent, mother, father, uncle, aunt that by buying these products the kids will think they are playing and not learning at all.

2nd:- I have decided on a nickname for my darling husband for my blog posts its MOTH (Man Of The House). He and our darling children thought nicknames would be so much better here then me posting their real names (Just in-case someone they know actually reads my blog).

3rd:- I finally got one of my listed items done. That's the link to my post if you want to read my list. I get to cross off 3. Open an Oztion account and have stock up for sale. :D

Until next time I blog enjoy the weekend and everything you do.

What to do with records?

Well awhile ago I found some very old Vinyl records ...do you remember those? They were well and truly out before MP3 players, CD's, Cassette tapes, etc etc. (Oh NOOO this is showing my age lol)
Well these were pretty badly scratched and wouldn't play without skipping so here is what I did with them.......

Yep I melted them in a very low oven over some bowls and created my very own trendy serving platters.

I must say they were a hit when I bought them out filled with chips, crackers and lollies :)

Until next time I blog have a really great week and enjoy your family and friends.

OMG its November where has the year gone?

Oh no its the 2nd of November already where has the year gone? Someone stole October I swear :)
It's a good thing I am a bit, lot, little creative LOL. As money is a bit tight around here. My DH lost his job 2 weeks ago and is now looking for work again but things are a little, a bloody lot slow on the job front for him.
Not only do I need to get Christmas pressies organised for the family, extended family and our grandson the Cheeky Monkey but its also the Cheeky Monkey's 2nd Birthday in the 1st week of December so I think its time to put my creative hat on once again and come up with some cool gifts for everyone.

Here is a little something I put together for our adoptive daughter Nikkie

Its 2 size 00 singlets for the twins she is expecting early May 2011

I have added some Toy Story transfers to the plan white singlets and I must say they have come up pretty good.

And there is this cute little baby blanket I crochet

But now I am not sure if I will give them to her for Christmas or save them for her baby shower :(

Till next time take care and have a good one :)
