Happy 2nd Birthday Cheeky Monkey

Today our grandson Cheeky Monkey turned 2. Here are just a few snaps from the day.
Party boxes Trains for boys and Butterflies for the girls.
Sammy Seal painted the wooden  trains and butterflies (bought at the Kaisercraft outlet here in Geelong) and I then decorated the noodle boxes and the wooden shapes. Roughly working out each noodle box costed around $3.00 including the lollies and toys we put inside them.
Train cake made by Nanny and Mummy.
Base of cake is chocolate cake. The trains are vanilla cake and the mould was found at Big W. It is a sillicone muffin mould.
The Handy Mandy bike is a great hit.

Pop teaching Cheeky Monkey to play golf in the lounge room

Cheeky Monkey and his Mummy (sammy seal) having a major cuddle together.
As you can tell its been a full on day for the little man and enjoyable for all of us.

Till next time take care.

Packed to the Rafters - day 4

There are times when seriously I should NOT have more money in my purse. As I not only went to Kaisercraft but Bunnings and bought some Blackboard paint.
I'm sure you are holding your breathe right now and wondering what it was that I decided to turn into a blackboard....keep me happy just nod your head please. :)

Well here you go the creation in pictures because I could see you were starting to turn a little blue there and I just can't afford to loose any blog followers right now if ever.
This and the bar bench divide our kitchen and dinning room.
We can't take the walls out as A) its an alcove for our fridge.
B) It's more then likely that they are load bearing and hold our ceiling up too.

After a wash with sugar soap

Marking the lines for our chalkboard.?
I used blue painters tape to mark my work area. I just love this tape as it has no bleeding if applied correctly. Can stay there for up to 14 days if it has to how good is that?
The 1st coat of blackboard paint.
Once this is finished I think Cheeky Monkey is going to love it.
I am also hoping that he won't be drawing on any other walls.

Miss A and her parents are going home tomorrow so she wont have the pleasure of test driving this.

29 days till Chistmas 2010

Welcome to FlogYoBlog Friday

Its only 29 days till Christmas....oh boy!!!
What to do?? What to do???
Yesterday afternoon a friend and I ended up at the Kaisercraft outlet store here in Geelong she needed some items for an album she was finishing and I needed some inspiration for some Chirstmas craft projects I wanted to do. I do so dislike going to Kaiser without any money I can tell you so once THE MOTH got paid and passed me some cash I went back there .... well I had found my inspiration after all and you got to strike while the iron is hot don't you?
So here are the projects I am going to start this weekend.
Advent Calendar
I have already started on this one as I inked the inside of the 25 little chipboard draws last night.
Bauble Tag Album

Star Wreath
I also bought some paper pads, embellishments and a little kit for a competition they are holding. Oh I also bought a fort to do up for the Cheeky Monkey just for the fun of it..you understand don't you?

I will update over the weekend with my progress on these projects so stay tuned and enjoy your weekend. I know I will as we have been told its suppose to rain on and off this weekend hence the craft projects.

OMG its November where has the year gone?

Oh no its the 2nd of November already where has the year gone? Someone stole October I swear :)
It's a good thing I am a bit, lot, little creative LOL. As money is a bit tight around here. My DH lost his job 2 weeks ago and is now looking for work again but things are a little, a bloody lot slow on the job front for him.
Not only do I need to get Christmas pressies organised for the family, extended family and our grandson the Cheeky Monkey but its also the Cheeky Monkey's 2nd Birthday in the 1st week of December so I think its time to put my creative hat on once again and come up with some cool gifts for everyone.

Here is a little something I put together for our adoptive daughter Nikkie

Its 2 size 00 singlets for the twins she is expecting early May 2011

I have added some Toy Story transfers to the plan white singlets and I must say they have come up pretty good.

And there is this cute little baby blanket I crochet

But now I am not sure if I will give them to her for Christmas or save them for her baby shower :(

Till next time take care and have a good one :)
